Stay with your Child

​

The child attends their first settling-in session alongside their parent or carer.

 

Having a familiar adult close by helps the child feel safe and secure as they explore their new surroundings, meet the staff and begin to become familiar with the nursery environment and routines.

​

If your child has a special comfort item (like a soft toy or blanket) that helps them feel secure, they are welcome to bring it along.

Your child can attend nursery for short sessions on their own, gradually building their confidence and becoming familiar with the staff, other children and daily routines until they feel comfortable and ready to begin their regular nursery sessions.

​

Every child settles in their own time, but most quickly adjust and begin to enjoy the routine, familiarity and experiences of nursery life.

​

We understand that this can be an emotional time for families too. To support you through the transition, you’re always welcome to call and check in. We’ll also keep you updated with messages, photos and daily progress through the Famly app, so you can see how your child is settling in.
