Your Child's Day
Our typical day is carefully planned to give children plenty of opportunities to play, learn, explore and develop at their own pace. Here's an example;
Arrival and Settling-In Time
Children arrive and are greeted warmly by our staff and are given time to play and gradually settle into their day.
Circle Time and Activity
Children sing songs, listen to stories and talk about the day’s activities. This helps them connect with their peers and understand routines. Following this, children participate in coordinated learning activities such as listening to stories, looking at books, counting, arts and crafts, and sensory exploration. These activities promote cognitive skills, fine motor development, and creativity.
Snack and Social Time
Children enjoy a healthy snack while socialising with their peers. Snack time is a great opportunity to practice self-help skills, such as pouring drinks and using utensils, as well as developing social interactions and sharing.
Outdoor Play and Physical Development
Outdoor play is an essential part of our day. Children can explore our outdoor space, building gross motor skills, coordination, and confidence while encouraging curiosity and exploration of the natural world.
Lunchtime and Rest Time
After an active morning, children enjoy a nutritious lunch. Staff encourage healthy eating habits, self-feeding, and social interaction at the table. Once lunch is over, younger children have a quiet rest or nap time, while others engage in calm activities.
Afternoon Activities and Free Play
In the afternoon, children participate in creative and educational activities, such as role-play, music, or group art projects. These activities encourage imagination, teamwork, and problem-solving. This is followed by free play, which encourages independence and decision-making while allowing children to further develop their social and emotional skills.
Afternoon Snack and Wind-Down
Another light snack is provided in the afternoon, offering children a chance to refuel and chat with friends. Afterward, we gather for quiet activities or story time to help children relax and reflect on their day.
Pick-Up and Free Play
As the day ends, children continue free play while waiting for parents to pick them up. This is a gentle end to the day, allowing children to finish activities or say goodbye to friends in a calm way.
Keeping you informed
At the end of the day, we’ll share a informative handover with families, keeping you updated on your child’s day, experiences and progress.
